HUMPHREY, Marilyn, 78, SIDNEY, at Portland, May 4, 2011. Visiting hours will be held Sat., May 28, from 10 to 11 a.m. at the Funeral Home followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. Arrangements are in the care of Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, Presque Isle.
SIDNEY – Marilyn Humphrey, 78, passed away on May 4, 2011, after a brief illness, at Maine Medical Center in Portland. She was born September 1, 1932, in Presque Isle, the daughter of Elbridge B. Ford and Pearl Etta (Cyr) Ford. She attended schools in Presque Isle and graduated from Presque Isle High School in 1950. On April 23, 1960, she married James E. Humphrey.
Marilyn began her career in customer service working for New England Telephone and Telegraph Company in Presque Isle. She later went on to work for Dead River Oil Company, Northeast Publishing and H&R Block. Marilyn retired after having worked in the Waterville Call Center for LL Bean, where she thoroughly enjoyed the interaction with the public. Marilyn enjoyed traveling with friends especially to Las Vegas, Florida, and Bermuda.
Marilyn is survived by her loving children: Jerome Humphrey and his wife, Danita, of Halethorpe, Maryland, and Sandy Kinney and her husband, Duncan of Sidney, Maine. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, a special nephew Paul Ford and his family of York, Maine; and her dear friend, Wilma Dempsey.
Marilyn was predeceased by her husband, Jim in 1971; her parents; and two brothers: Elbridge B. Ford, II and Merrill Ford.
Visiting hours will be held Saturday, May 28, 2011, from 10 to 11 a.m., at the Duncan-Graves Funeral Home, 30 Church Street, Presque Isle, followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m.
