PRESQUE ISLE — BalanceBPO, Inc., a premium business process outsource (BPO) service provider specializing in improving customer experience while reducing costs, marked its first anniversary in the Star City in April, announcing the appointment of Paulo J. Silva to the company’s board of directors.
“Paulo is a highly-respected professional who has been on the forefront of domestic and international outsourcing for many years and has an industry insight possessed by very few,” said Tim Lavin, chief executive officer and board member, BalanceBPO. “Paulo believes in the value of BalanceBPO’s core processes, and together with the rest of the board and leadership team, shares our passion for revolutionizing the business process outsourcing industry.”
Also serving on the leadership team in addition to Silva and Lavin are: Daniel Pearce, chairman; Daniel Evanoff, vice chairman; Michael Willette, director; Megan Lavin, vice president, human resources; Jonathan Reinsdorf, advisor; and Matthew Grant, vice president, technology and process. The team has 85 years of applied experience.
“Paulo currently serves as vice president, business development, for Latin America for the BPO division of ACS, a Xerox company,” said Lavin.
Prior to ACS, Silva joined Dell Inc. and served as director of Dell’s global procurement for call center and field delivery.
“With responsibilities spanning high-value contract negotiation, vendor management support and development of key strategic initiatives related to maximizing efficiencies and reducing cost, Paulo has cultivated a vast personal network with global reach across multiple industries. In this role, he gained an extensive understanding of core and emerging technologies, processes and global delivery markets,” explained Lavin.
Silva’s experience includes his service as vice president of business development at Drive Financial Services as well as various leadership roles in international corporate M&A and operations, said BPO’s chief executive officer and founder.
“He has more than 18 years of experience in telecommunications, travel, gaming, retail and BPO industries. All of Paulo’s experience and insight will play a vital role in the development of strategy at BalanceBPO,” Lavin said.
Pearce said, “Paulo brings exceptional industry experience and together with the rest of the board, Paulo will help guide us toward our goal of becoming the benchmark in the industry for improving customer experience and lowering cost.”
Silva is a graduate of Johnson & Wales University with dual degrees in marketing and sales management. He serves on the Tau Kappa Epsilon Advisory Board and is an active member of the Girls & Boys Club of America.
In addition to the good news of Silva’s joining the board of directors, Lavin also noted on the company’s Facebook page in April that, “BalanceBPO is going green.”
“We reduced our energy costs by 34.25 percent last month, just by cutting waste. We expect larger reductions in months to come,” posted Lavin on April 6, the one-year anniversary of the Presque Isle office.
