PLANO, TEXAS — Myron E.(Mike) Ullman, III, chairman and chief executive officer, honored jcpenney’s best-performing teams with the Chairman’s Award at a celebratory banquet in Dallas on April 29.

The Chairman’s Award, the company’s highest honor for performance excellence, was presented to the following Maine stores that delivered exceptional results in 2010:

• Presque Isle — Aroostook Shopping Center, Store Manager Nancy L. Viel; and

• Rockland — Rockland Plaza, Store Manager Jessica R. Ouellette (now store manager in Berlin, Vt.).

“By setting the standard for jcpenney’s industry-leading customer service, these exceptional store managers and their associates are helping to drive jcpenneys transformation to become America’s favorite shopping destination,” Ullman said, “jcpenney has the best team in retail, and as Chairmans Award winners, these stores can take pride in being among the best of the best.”

jcpenney presents Chairman’s Awards annually to the top-performing stores, districts and other selected teams in the company that significantly raise the bar on financial performance, customer service, innovation or overall support to the company’s business. Only 160 of 1,110 stores and 10 of 72 districts were selected as Chairman’s Award winners.
