No one on Council is listening
To the editor:
What has happened to a City Council that is elected by the people, to represent them? It isn’t happening. Public comments are a waste of time, no one is listening.
Since the new manager came to town our Council members have turned a deaf ear to the citizens of this city. Why do we need a police chief from Florida? Do you as Council members think so little of our dedicated men and women who have served this city for many years, do you think they are not capable of being chief, is there no incentive to do well so you can be promoted at some point? Shame on you for bypassing the good people who have put in the time in our police department.
Remember this one thing — you work for us, the people of Presque Isle, let’s see some loyalty from you. And other departments are being dismantled and employees who have worked many years are being shown the door in one way or another.
I spent 35 years working for the city; in all those years employees were shown some respect.
