Town Office observes holiday

Town Office will be closed on Monday, Feb. 21, in observance of Presidents’ Day. The office will be open for regular business hours the following day, Feb. 22.

Wednesday, Feb. 16 — Junior activities for ages 2 and up at the hall from 9:30-11 a.m. Seniors’ exercise at 1 p.m. in the recreation room at the manor. Grades 5 and 6 girls’ basketball practice from 2:45 to 4 p.m. in the elementary school gym. Movie day after school at the hall until 4:15 p.m. Grades 5 and 6 boys’ basketball practice from 5:45-7 p.m. at the elementary school.
Thursday, Feb. 17 — Seniors’ field trip to the Wintergreen Arts Center. The group will carpool from the manor at 11 a.m. and enjoy a tour of the new facilities, lunch at the café and games afterwards. Participants are responsible for their own lunch. Try Zumbatomic for free! “The crazy-cool dance-fitness workout for kids set to hip-hop, salsa, reggae and more,” it’s sure to make your kids smile. The class will offered for grades 1-8. In March an eight-week session will begin; this is a great way for your child to try it out and see if it is something they might enjoy. Starting at 2:45 p.m. and ending at 4:15 pm. at Easton Elementary School.
Friday, Feb. 18 — Junior activities 9:30-11 a.m. at the hall. Open to ages 2 and up. Seniors’ Healthy Lifestyles class begins at noon in the recreation room at the manor. Lunch will be provided free of charge starting at 11:15 a.m. Zumba Gold from 3:15 to 4:15 p.m. at the hall. Pre-registration recommended.
Monday, Feb. 21 — Holiday; – Town Office closed. Big Rock will be open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and honoring the “Ski for Life” rate of $13 for Easton Recreation Department participants.
Tuesday, Feb. 22 — Grades 5 and 6 boys’ and girls’ round robin in Mars Hill; times and locations to be announced. Swimming field trip departs at 12:40 p.m. and returns at 3:10 p.m. The cost is $2. Children must be able to swim the width of the pool by themselves to be in the water without an adult.

Grady Day celebrated his first birthday with relatives in Easton recently, which provided a perfect opportunity for four generations of his family to gather for fun and games. On Feb. 17, Matt Fitzherbert, Michael Ireland II, Roger Condon Jr. and Mitchell Blodget will all be celebrating their birthdays. Also on Feb. 17, Lynda and Hugh Turner have an anniversary. Happy anniversary to you both and, Hughie, you had better head to Kay’s.
Feb. 18, Leslie Ferris, Troy Carter and Matthew Dobson all have a birthday.
Sonny Robbins will turn another year older on February 19th. Also Lewellyn and Avis White and Richard and Sonya Watson have an anniversary to celebrate on Feb. 19.
Bonnie Fuller has a birthday on Feb. 20. Have a wonderful day, Bonnie.
On Feb. 21, Ashley Holmes, Lennie Young, Cheryl Clark, Carol West, Ezra Yoder, Kristie Bate, Wilfred Tompkins and Matthew Allen all have a day to celebrate.
On Feb. 22, Todd Whittaker, Brad Fox, Emma Cronkite, Hunter Turner, George Rhoades and Tammy Fuller all turn another year older. Happy birthday, Hunter, my buddy. Also if you see Debbie and Barry Wolverton on Feb. 22, you can wish them a happy anniversary.
