The Presque Isle Wildcats moved up to sixth place in the latest Eastern Maine Class B Heal Point boys standings after recording three more wins last week.
Presque Isle, which beat Hermon and Bucksport after downing Caribou last Wednesday (see accompanying story) is now 9-1 overall. The Wildcats next play Saturday at Old Town.
Central Aroostook is still No. 1 in EM Class D after another perfect week. The Panthers are now 11-0 as they prepare to meet up against Southern Aroostook in a home game Friday.
Easton, thanks mainly to its come-from-behind win over Southern Aroostook last Wednesday, is in fourth place at 7-3. The Bears have an important game coming up Friday when they make the trip to Washburn to take on the undefeated Beavers.
The seventh-ranked Beavers (8-0) hosted GHCA last night, while eighth-place Fort Fairfield (6-5) was on the road for a game at Van Buren last night and will next make the trip to St. Agatha Thursday to square off against Wisdom. The Beavers and the Tigers will square off next Tuesday, Jan. 25 for a pivotal game in Fort Fairfield.
Ashland is currently 11th with its 3-7 record. Only the top 10 teams in the division will make the post-season. The Hornets take on Limestone-MSSM Friday and then host Van Buren Saturday.
