GRIVOIS, Gary D., 56,  PRESQUE ISLE, December 1, 2010. A funeral Mass will be held at The Parish of the Precious Blood, St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Presque Isle, at 10 a.m., on Thursday, Dec. 9. A reception will follow at the K. C. Hall.

PRESQUE ISLE – Gary D. Grivois, 56, passed away unexpectedly at home on Dec. 1, 2010. He was born November 11, 1954, in Presque Isle, the son of Joseph O’Neil and Marie Albertine (Cyr) Grivois.

He was a 1974 graduate of Presque Isle High School and 1976 graduate of Northeast Technical Institute in Boston, MA. Gary worked at WAGM-TV for 27 years, starting part-time behind the scenes, operating camera on Potato Pickers Special morning show; then full-time directing news and as master control operator.

Gary will be remembered for his kindness, sense of humor, and gentle demeanor.  He loved being with his family and friends, tending his garden, having an occasional game of golf, and watching his favorite New England sports teams.

Gary will be sadly missed by his surviving family; six sisters, Verna O’Connell of Winterport, Jean Crotto and her husband, Francis of Palm Coast, FL, Nita Therriault and Joan Grivois, both of Presque Isle, Sharon Swiek of Winthrop, and Tina Grivois of Winterport; a brother, Nelson Grivois of Stafford Springs, CT; five nieces, Tammy Jumah and husband, Ahmad of Ammen, Jordan, Karen Dennison of Fresno, CA, Jennifer Grivois and Stacy Grivois, both of Southington, CT, and Sara Swiek of So. Portland; three nephews,  Jeffrey Crotto of St. Augustine, FL, Jason Crotto of Weehawken, NJ, and Abram Grivois of Gorham; and several great-nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his father, Joseph O’Neil Grivois; mother, Marie Albertine (Cyr) Grivois; infant sister, Kay Frances Grivois; and brothers-in-law, Gerald “Jeb” Therriault and Stanley Swiek.

Friends and family may visit 9:30-10 a.m., Thursday, Dec 9, at The Parish of the Precious Blood, St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 6 Roberts St., Presque Isle. A funeral Mass celebrating his life will be held at 10 a.m. with Father Raymond Morency presiding.  Burial will take place at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, weather permitting, followed by a reception for family and friends at the K.
