The 2007 Junior Miss and Miss Mapleton Pageant will be held Saturday, May 19 at 7 p.m. at the Presque Isle High School Auditorium. Doors will open at 6:15 p.m. Pre-pageant entertainment will be provided by Jordyn Kinney, Kelsey Gilson, Kori Kinney and Moon Dance Studios. The Mistress of Ceremonies for the pageant will be Jessica Neece.
The three contestants vying for the 2007 Miss Mapleton title are:
• Shauna Johnston, a senior at Presque Isle High School, is the 17-year-old daughter of Garth and Debbie Johnston. Shauna will be performing a ballet en Pointe to “My Immortal” for her talent.
• Kasandra Nelson, a junior at PIHS, is the 17-year-old daughter of Sherry Bradley and Alan Cowett. Kasandra will be performing a jazz dance to “Smooth Criminal” for the talent portion of the evening.
• Brianne Calabrese, a senior at PIHS, is the 18-year-old daughter of Michael Calabrese and Rose Levasseur. Brianne will be singing, “Zing! Went the Strings of My Heart” for her talent.
The six contestants competing for the Junior Miss Mapleton crown are:
• Samantha Buck, a seventh-grader at Presque Isle Middle School, is the 12-year-old daughter of Andy and Angela Buck. She will be playing a piano piece entitled “Entrance of the Gladiators” for her talent.
• Rachel Dow, a sixth-grader at PIMS, is the 12-year-old daughter of Tony and Lisa Dow. Rachel will be performing a jazz dance to “Jitterbug” for her talent.
• Michaela Powers, a seventh-grader at PIMS, is the 12-year-old daughter of Joe and Sue Powers. Michaela will be performing a hip-hop dance to “Pon de Replay” for her talent.
• Sarah McEachern, a seventh-grader at PIMS, is the 13-year-old daughter of Bruce and Pamela McEachern. Sarah will be performing a clogging routine to “Funkytown” for her talent.
• Kathryn Sharp, a seventh-grader at PIMS, is the 12-year-old daughter of Danny and Linda Sharp. Kathryn will be singing, “Anyway” for the talent portion of the evening.
• Emily Wright, an eighth-grader at PIMS, is the 14-year-old daughter of Barry and Kim Wright. Emily will be playing a piano piece entitled “Let It Be” for her talent.
Tickets for the pageant are $6 and are available at the door or from any contestant.
