AL’S DINER

Jay and Melissa Peavey are the new owners of Al’s Diner in Mars Hill. They have done some renovations and reopened on Monday, Nov. 8. Their new hours are Monday-Thursday, 5 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, 5 a.m. to 9 p.m.; and Sunday, 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. This is a family affair, with Melissa, mom/cook Joyce and sister Anita having worked at Al’s for 10 years. They will be joined by sister Sonja, daughter Whitney and niece Kennedy. They will also be adding some new items to the menu, including breakfast burritos and more seafood.
