PRESQUE ISLE – Gayle S. Lynch, 75, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully October 30, 2010, at a Presque Isle health care facility. She was born on January 4, 1935, in Presque Isle, to Raymond and Helen (Ford )Simpson.
Gayle was loved by all who knew her and was considered a “social butterfly” by many. Her family was everything to her and her grandchildren were the center of her world, she always put them first.
Gayle was a devout Catholic and member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Presque Isle, Our Lady of Mt. Carmel, Indiana, and St. Paschal Baylon, CA. She loved to sing and was a member of the church choirs. She was an avid reader, wonderful cook and loved to knit for her family. She completed her nursing degree at Northern Maine Community College and practiced at The Aroostook Medical Center, and private duty nursing in Greenville, SC. Gayle was loved by coworkers, as she often worked holidays so others could be home with their young children.
She is survived by her six children: daughter, Susie and her husband, Tom Fourt of Newbury Park, CA, and their sons, Connor and Hunter; son, Gene Lynch II and his wife, Pam of Mapleton and their sons, Nicholas, Christopher and Benji; son, Scott Lynch and his wife, Maggie of Gray, and their children, Justin, Scott Jr. and Jennah; son, Dan Lynch and his wife, Lisa of Saco and their children, Courtney and Sean; son, Stephen Lynch of Orrington and his children, Alyssa and Jared; daughter, Diana and her husband, Scott Story of Monroe, and their children, Kelsi and Kyle; and by her cherished brother-in-law, Dallas McCrea.
She was predeceased by her beloved sister, Janet McCrea.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated 11 a.m. Tuesday, November 2, 2010, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Parish of the Precious Blood with Rev. Raymond Morency celebrant. Friends called 10 a.m. Tuesday until time of the Mass at the church. Interment was at Fairmount Cemetery. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude for the loving care the staff at the Presque Isle Nursing Home provided, with special thanks to Dr. David Jones, Becky Sharpe and Ruth Collins. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to either St. Mary’s Catholic Church, P.O.
