Washburn held a 20-14 advantage in shots on goal, but could not get a shot past SA goalie Mallary Lawlor.
Central Aroostook girls 2, Limestone-MSSM 0 – Kristen Long posted a first-half goal and assisted on Vicki McIntyre’s second-half goal as the Panthers blanked the visiting Eagles Thursday.     Presque Isle boys 8, John Bapst 0 – The Wildcats blitzed the visiting Crusaders Saturday behind three goals each by Wilder York and Josh Allen.
PI coach Scott Young said his team’s ability to counter John Bapst’s offsides trap was key in the victory.
“We did break through in both halves to score nice goals, but in the second half our forwards did a much better job of being targets and allowing for midfielders and backs to overlap to counter the trap, which in turn created many scoring opportunities,” he said.
Isaac LaJoie had the other two goals and Andrew Legassie led the way in assists with two for the ’Cats, who have not allowed a goal since their 2-2 season-opening tie at Fort Kent. Andrew Kofstad made a brilliant save in the first half to help preserve the shutout.

Presque Isle boys 4, Fort Kent 0 – LaJoie, Jake Williams, Jake Player and Allen were the goal scorers as the Wildcats were dominant in Thursday’s home game against the Warriors.
“We were pleased with how our back line and keeper kept a very potent offensive-minded Fort Kent team rather quiet,” Young said.
Kofstad faced just seven shots in the match and recorded three saves.
Washburn boys 6, Easton 3 – McLaughlin’s hat trick, in addition to two goals by Worcester and another by Kyle Huston, lifted the Beavers past the Bears last Wednesday.

LaGeorge Williams, Noyes and Austin Bernier rounded out the FF offense with goals. Forsman scored the only Eagle goal.
Ashland boys 1, Van Buren 1 – The Hornets managed the tie last Tuesday as Tyler Levesque of Ashland scored a first-half goal to counter Ryan Guerrette’s second-half goal for VB.
“This was a much-improved outing for us,” said Ashland coach Kevin Paradis. “We brought Levesque to the midfield and he is quickly learning his responsibilities and will be a force in the future.”
The Hornet coach said leading scorer Kenny Tarr has also been moved to midfield from his usual forward spot, giving him “much more breathing room to create for himself and others.”
Paradis added that senior Keith Holmes continues to lead the defense as the most consistent Hornet on the back line.
Katahdin boys 6, Easton 4 – In a high-scoring match played last Tuesday, Clark and Turner scored two goals each but it wasn’t enough as the Cougars came out on top in Easton.
