Cheering squad size increased
On April 26, the Maine Principal’s Association Cheering Committee approved increasing the number of cheerleaders on the floor for competitions to 20, with two alternates. This decision will allow for more complicated stunts and pyramid formations. The committee also has mandated that all coaches of fall cheering squads must attend one of two mandatory clinics being offered prior to the fall session. Two additional clinics will be offered prior to the winter session for winter coaches. Winter coaches my attend any of the four clinics to meet the expectation.
