The Scouts took a visit to the Washington Mall, visiting the new WWII Memorial, the Vietnam Wall and the Korean War Memorial and Lincoln Memorial.
Also included in the trip, they traveled to Hershey, Penn., and spent a day at the famous Hershey Park. They enjoyed riding all of the rollercoasters, water rides and park food that they could take in. They “closed” the park that evening and all agreed that it was a day to remember.

The family farm home of Skip and Autumn Creasey on the Cross Road in Crouseville was the scene of a large get-together of over 17 family members and several friends, the week prior to Labor Day.
Many memories were shared and even a “reunion” of three students, Anissa Cochran Levesque, Jason Clayton and Tony Creasey, who all graduated together in 1989. Grandchildren and cousins met, some for the first time, and came from as far away as Oregon, Indiana and all areas in Aroostook County. Other guests attending included Jason, Nichole and Mitchell Clayton, Anissa and Dave Levesque, Kassy Belk and Christie Cochran.
The weather was hot and humid, but none seemed to mind it, and all had lots of cool drinks to enjoy, including Moxie, which is unknown in other areas but is a family favorite of the Creasey clan. Dixon Jr. also got to enjoy some of his favorite “red hotdogs” which are unavailable in Indiana. Dixon and Mary Ann took a good supply of both Moxie and red hotdogs as well as much of the humid heat home with them.
Many stories were shared by the brothers of their boyhood days. It turns out most of which their parents had never heard of before.
The other “Daniel Creasey, grandson of Skip and Autumn, arrived from Boston the next day to share some special time with Grampy and Grammy Creasey and his dad, Dixon Jr. He certainly would have never gone unnoticed by his family, as he’s reached the height of 6’5”!
Unable to attend were Ben and Erin Meeks of Indiana, and Erik Creasey of Boston. Such fun was had that likely more trips will be made back home some other summer.
Zumba classes with Instructor Paige Huston will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Washburn District Elementary School.

Marching members of Washburn Boy Scout Troop 177 took part in this year’s festivities.
