Quoggy Jo seeks support
Quoggy Jo Ski Club has been providing a safe, fun outdoor skiing and snowboarding facility for the young and old – and in between – since 1956. There have been many changes since the beginning. Quoggy has moved twice and seen improvements in its lodge, rental equipment and lift. It has been supported by the city, community members and the Libra Foundation through the Maine Winter Sports Center.
Now Quoggy Jo is going through another change. The Libra Foundation has greatly reduced its support to Quoggy Jo, which means in order for the hill to stay operational, there will need to be an increase in involvement from the community.
Quoggy’s most pressing need is for an increased involvement in the ski club to help move the club forward and to provide new ideas for improvements. The club is in desperate need of an individual who is mechanically inclined to handle lift maintenance.
If anyone has an interest in becoming part of Quoggy Jo’s future, please contact Beth Curtis at 551-5504 or 764-3016.
