PRESQUE ISLE — The Presque Isle Police Department have received several more complaints of cars burglarized in the city over the past week.
“Between Tuesday, Aug. 31, and Friday, Sept. 3, the department received about nine reports from car owners indicating their vehicles had been burglarized,” said Sgt. Joey Seeley, PIPD.

Locations involved in the latest round of criminal activity included: Robert, Skyway, Dobson, Caron and Verone streets; and Downing Place. Several of the cases involved the theft of loose change, CDs and small electronic equipment. All but two vehicles were reportedly unlocked.
“The individual(s) were able to get into one of the locked vehicles but they failed to gain entry into the second car,” said Seeley.
Police are asking anyone with information to contact 764-4476.
“If you see something suspicious, report it right away. Don’t wait,” said Seeley. “And remember to always lock your vehicle when you leave it unattended, no matter where you’re going or how long you’ll be.”
Seeley also advised removing valuables from vehicles or securing them out of sight whenever possible.
