    GREGORY, Alice, 95, WESTFIELD, at Dexter, August 20, 2010. Arrangements in the care of Duncan Funeral Home, Mars Hill.


 

    WESTFIELD – Alice Gregory, 95, passed away Friday, August 20, 2010, at a Dexter nursing home. She was born May 15, 1915, in Easton, being one of twelve children to Thomas and Susan (Taylor) Lunney.
    Alice was an avid reader and enjoyed knitting mittens, socks, sweaters, and afghans or her loved ones. She spent time crocheting, dancing, and cooking. She used to work in the spring and fall for local farmers, as well as W.T. Grant Department Store, the Extension Service, and as a voting polls clerk.
    She is survived by two daughters, Gloria Bridges and her husband Ron, and Amelda Ross of Enfield, CT, and her husband Al of Dexter; eight grandchildren, Allen and his wife Siobhon Ross, Lisa and her husband Jeremy Leal, all of Dexter, Lori Sullivan of Holyoke, MA, Chris Rideout and his wife Roxanne of Newington, CT, Don Rideout and his wife Jackie of Hampden, Debra Colcord and her husband John of Madison, NH, Ron Bridges and his wife Dawn of Presque Isle, Sam Bridges and his wife Kathleen of Enfield, CT; a brother, Boyd Lunney and his wife Dawn of Cape Elizabeth; a sister-in-law, Mable Lunney of Presque Isle; many great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
    In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Donald; a daughter, Sharon Gregory; and a granddaughter, Kathryn Ross Hall.
    A graveside service was conducted 12 p.m., Saturday, August 28, 2010, at Marshall Cemetery in Westfield with Pastor Lois Field officiating. A celebration of life continued following the service at the home of Albert and Sadie Billings. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Lung Association of Maine (122 State St., Augusta, ME 04330) or to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105-1942).
