EASTON NEWS

by Debbie Smith

Ruth Anne (Nadeau) Darr and her husband, Corey, were recently in Easton visiting with family and friends. They live in Oklahoma. They drove over 2,000 miles to spend time with loved ones. Heather (Nadeau) Nations and her two boys also came with them. Alex is 10 months old and Garry is 5 years old.

They all came for the Easton All-School Reunion and also the Flewelling/ Kinney Reunion. They visited her sister, Laurie Martin, and husband, Vaughn ,and their daughters, Valerie and Katrina. Valerie was home for a few days from Ohio. They visited her brother, Brad Nadeau. Brad’s wife, Holly, was visiting family in Texas so she missed seeing them.
Ruth Anne’s sister, Ellen, came up from East Millinocket to see her. Ruth Anne, Corey, Heather, Alex and Garry spent two days visiting Lacey Saucier, her husband, Joe, and their baby, Abram, in Wallagrass.
While here, Laurie Martin had a baby shower for Lacey. It was held at the Easton Wesleyan Church. Those present at the shower were: Geraldine Flewelling, Arlene Ladner, Paula York, Angie Bubar, Emily Cyr, Barb York, Laurie Martin, Ellen Nadeau, Andrea Perkins and her two girls, Phyllis Nadeau, Sharon LeMeire and husband Keith, Joe Saucier, Vaughn Martin, Elijah Saucier, Malachi Saucier and baby Abram Saucier. Ruth Anne and all five of them stayed with Phyllis Nadeau. We all had a very good time. Those sending gifts but not able to attend the baby shower were Dorothy Larsen, Lois Ladner, Elizabeth Martin, Grandma Pat from Oklahoma and Marie Hewitt.

Back to school

Easton schools resume today for the start of another year — that is without the friendly faces of two employees. Iola Page and Pat Nevers retired this year after many years of service to our school system. Iola had 40 years of service and Pat had 23 years of service at Easton Elementary School. They will truly be missed.
We want to thank you so much for the many years of dedicated service you gave our students of Easton. Best of luck in your retirement and enjoy it. You deserve it.
