Golf tourney for

NMCC Foundation slated

Officials with TD Bank and the Northern Maine Community College Foundation have announced plans to host their fifth annual golf tournament at the Aroostook Valley Country Club in Fort Fairfield on Thursday, Aug. 12.

“TD Bank is pleased to be the title sponsor of this most enjoyable and beneficial event for a fifth consecutive year.  This year’s tournament again benefits the NMCC Foundation.
Funds raised will support the many worthwhile ongoing activities of the Foundation and will provide important scholarships for many worthy students through the TD Bank Scholarship Fund,” said Michael Kelley, Sr., regional vice president of TD Bank.
“As title sponsor, TD Bank is proud to be a partner with organizations such as NMCC, and, most importantly, pleased to be able to support area students in their quest to pursue higher education.”
In addition to the title sponsor TD Bank, Quigley’s Building Supply of Fort Kent and Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Presque Isle, along with the Northern Maine Development Commission and WAGM-TV, are major sponsors of the event.
Last year’s tournament raised over $15,000, and this year’s event promises to be even more successful with the addition of several new sponsors.
The tournament will also feature a hole-in-one prize, a cruise package sponsored by CruiseOne. Lunch will be sponsored by the Maine Winter Sports Center.
A silent auction following the tournament will include items donated by several businesses.
“I encourage all to take advantage of a great afternoon of golf and camaraderie in support of TD Bank’s fifth annual golf tournament,” said Melony LeShane, who serves as chair of the golf tournament-related activities committee for the NMCC Foundation.
“This event supports the NMCC Foundation’s scholarship fundraising and directly benefits students. Non-golfers are also welcome to attend the dinner and silent auction,” added LeShane.
Individuals interested in playing in the tournament, attending the dinner or supporting the event through a sponsorship or silent auction donation can contact Shannon Cook in the NMCC Foundation Office at 760-1188 or scook@nmcc.edu.
