Training sessions set

    PRESQUE ISLE — The Bicycle Coalition of Maine will hold an informational meeting on Saturday, July 31 from noon to 1 p.m. in the Lodge at the Nordic Heritage Center in Presque Isle to discuss the coalition’s current and upcoming programs in northern Maine. 

    Area residents interested in making their communities more bike-friendly are invited to attend.  Those planning to attend are asked to e-mail allison@BikeMaine.org.
    Two free training sessions for bicycle safety instructors also will be offered at the lodge at the Nordic Heritage Center. The sessions will take place on Friday and Saturday, July 30 and 31 from 2 to 5 p.m.
    Tasse will present the coalition’s nationally recognized Bicycle and Pedestrian Safety Curriculum.  Those who complete a training session are eligible to become one of the coalition’s paid bicycle safety instructors, and they also can use the information to present on bicycling basics in schools, worksites and recreation programs.
