WASHBURN — A Presque Isle woman escaped serious injury when she reportedly fell asleep at the wheel of her car.
“We received a report of a rollover around 5 a.m. July 23 on Hines Street,” said Chief Doug Conroy, Washburn Police Department.

According to Conroy, the driver, identified as Marna Hallaway, 21, of Presque Isle, failed to make the curve near the Methodist Church and rolled her car completely over.
“The car landed on its wheels in the church parking lot. The driver was not a local driver — wasn’t familiar with the area,” he said. “She also stated she’d briefly dozed and missed the turn.”
Hallaway, who was alone at the time of the accident, complained of pain in her shoulders and back.
“She was transported by Crown Ambulance to The Aroostook Medical Center for treatment,” said Conroy.
Conroy said Hallaway’s 2003 Ford Focus sustained about $4,000 in damage.
The Washburn Fire Department also assisted at the scene.
