Club members take part in Farmshare

The Star City Senior Citizen’s club met March 22, at the V.F.W. with 20 members and three guests. Our guests were Lisa Bloom from Farmshare, Janet Kelle and Vickie St. Peter from Professional Home Nursing.
The table blessing was given by Donna Devoe, after which everyone enjoyed a potluck luncheon.
The regular meeting was opened by Vice President Donna Devoe, with the “Lord’s Prayer,” flag salute and one verse of “America”.
Our sick members are Bea Wasson, Sadie Langley, Theo Chandler, Granville Lamb and Marie Lamb. We ask that everyone keep them in their prayers.
The secretary’s report was not given due to Nancy Young’s absence the week of March 15. The treasurer’s report was given by Jean Easler. It was accepted as read and agreed upon by a show of hands from the membership.
Prior to the meeting, Lisa Bloom helped our members fill out applications for the Farmshare program. Janet Kelle and Vickie St. Peter took everyone’s blood pressure. They spoke to us about sanitary procedures to help keep infections down. Tips on how to keep our homes, laundry and ourselves free from infections such as staph and C-Diff. We would like to again thank our guests for coming. The meeting was then adjourned.
Being a member of the Seniors Club, we have the opportunity to experience and learn many things. Come and join us for a potluck luncheon on Thursdays at the V.F.W. and decide for yourselves if you’d like to join our club.
