Summer Reading Program at
Mark and Emily Turner Memorial Library

IN CONTINUING WITH ITS SUMMER READING PROGRAM, the Mark and Emily Turner Memorial Library in Presque Isle invited children to a “Fishing Fun” presentation with Aroostook State Park Director Scott Thompson. Following story time with Interim Children’s Librarian Dianna Leighton, Thompson explained the art of fishing, popular places to fish, the types of fish often caught in our area, and shared samples of lures, flies and poles.
Thompson also gave each child a full color keepsake passport guide to all of the state parks located in Maine. Children were also given a list of websites to visit and tips to help make their summer fishing trips safe and memorable. Before dismissing those present, he asked one final question, “So who is going to do some fishing this summer?” Thompson was one of the first to raise his hand (inset).
