    Lyons, Annie M. Holmes, 91, BELFAST, May 23, 2010.  A Funeral Service will be held 10 a.m., Friday, May 28, at Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home. Arrangements in the care of Riposta Funeral Home, Belfast.


 

    BELFAST – Annie M. Holmes Lyons, 91, passed away May 23, 2010, in Belfast, Maine. She was born in Portage Lake August 17, 1918, the daughter of James Allen Holmes Sr. and Dorothy E. (Bragdon)Holmes.
    She graduated valedictorian of Crosby High School, Class of 1936. She worked in Daly Bros. shoe factory until 1943, and South Portland Shipyard from 1943 to 1945 until moving to Aroostook County to help her brother, Pat with his children. Her years in Portland were the high-light of her life.
    She married Donald Lyons November 20, 1946, who predeceased her in 1978. She worked in ABC Bakery for 12 years, at Presque Isle High School as a cook for three years, then moved to Connecticut in 1963. She worked at Pratt & Whitney for 15 years until her retirement in 1981. Annie then returned back to her home in Belfast, ME. She did a lot of volunteer work at convalescent homes and joined VFW Auxiliary in 1981, Randall & Collins Post 3108, of which she was a lifetime member. Annie joined the American Legion Auxiliary and was a lifetime member of the Pocahontas. She loved sewing, crocheting, reading and cooking. Her favorite recreation was dancing.
    She was predeceased by her parents; her second husband, Donald Lyons; five brothers, Colby, Preston, Raymond, A. Franklin, and James Jr.; a half brother, Ralph; a half-sister, Elizabeth Hathaway; and her son, Gerald L. Clark.
    Survivors include her three sons, Reginald E. Clark and Edgar A. Clark, both of Belfast, and Eugene E. Clark of Manchester, CT; 11 grandchildren, Lynn, Karen, Jeff, Ellen, Jamie, Heidi, Doni, David, James, Shawn and Dawn-Marie; 21 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; long-time very good friends, Joyce Tibbetts of Swanville, Mary Colby of Swanville, Alice Nickerson of Florida, Louise Flood of Belfast, as well as Nancy and Charles Wiesner of Connecticut.
    Family and friends are invited to call from 5-7 p.m. Thursday, May 27, at Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Avenue, Belfast, where funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Friday, with Rev. Joel Krueger officiating.
