PERFECT PADDLING weather greeted participants in Saturday’s third annual Aroostook River Fun Run canoe-kayak race/bike poker run, sponsored by the Presque Isle and Washburn Rotary Clubs. Among the 50-person field was a father-daughter canoe team of Charlie Namur of Presque Isle and Jenn Karp of Silver Spring, Md. Namur, a retired commercial airline pilot, is caretaker of the Presque Isle Fish and Game Club, where a celebratory barbecue and awards ceremony were held. Official race results and more photos will run in next week’s newspaper.
