AFTER REMOVING SIDING from the Presque Isle Elks Lodge on Main Street last Friday, crews from John Desjardins Construction Co. discovered this painted message encouraging the public to play beano at the lodge every Friday at 7 p.m. According to Lodge member Jim Kennedy, the sign was painted on the building in the late 1970s, making it over 30 years old. Kennedy said while it’s no longer called beano, bingo is held at the Lodge every Friday at 7 p.m. The public is welcome. Crews are presently putting on new siding and brick columns as a way to spruce up the façade.
