PRESQUE ISLE — A local hair salon is putting scissors to good use this weekend in hopes of trimming the number of lung-related problems in the state.
Great Beginnings Hair Boutique, located at 411 Main St., will be holding a fund-raiser on Sunday, May 16, with all proceeds going to the American Lung Association of Maine.
“We will be holding what we call a Charity Cut-A-Thon from 1 to 5 p.m. that day, with 100 percent of the money raised going to help the American Lung Association,” said Denise Young, stylist at the shop.
All haircut proceeds will benefit the organization and its efforts to help those affected by various forms of lung disease.
“We’re accepting walk-ins only, on a first-come, first-served basis,” said Young.
A donation is required for the service and greatly appreciated. For more information, call 764-3806.
