The 2010 Miss Greater Mars Hill and Little Miss Mars Hill pageants were held on Saturday, April 10. The event began with the interviews taking place in the afternoon. The pageants began at 6:30 p.m., with the Greater Miss contestants doing their opening routine followed by the Little Miss opening routine. Miss Greater Mars Hill 2009 Meagan McClay welcomed the crowd.
Mistresses of Ceremony for the evening were Michelle Tweedie and Shelby Hallett. The evening’s competition began with Sportswear for both the Little and Greater contestants, followed by the Talent competition. This was followed by the Little Miss Party Dress and Question competition and the Greater Miss Evening Gown and Question.
The Talent Competition for the Little Miss contestants began with Sydney Garrison, daughter of Gregg and Heidi Garrison. Sydney sang Elvis’s “Hound Dog” and really rocked the stage. She tied for High Ticket Sales and was named the first runner-up.
Macey Coffin was the next contestant. She did a monologue and karate routine as her talent and really showed off her skills. The daughter of Christopher and Stephanie Coffin, Macey tied for High Ticket Sales.
Next on the program was Kierstian Tarbox. She did a great job doing a yoga routine to “Mamma Mia.” Kierstian is the daughter of Ray and Kendra Tarbox.
Gracie Giberson is the daughter of Troy and Tammy Giberson. She was crowned Little Miss Mars Hill 2010. Gracie was Shirley Temple herself, singing “You’ve Got to S-M-I-L-E to be H-A-Double-P-Y” as her talent.
Madison Crouse is the daughter of Matthew and Amanda Crouse. She did a dance as her talent to “Little Bitty Pretty One.” Madison was named second runner-up.
Contestant number 6 was Mersaydez Johnston. She sang “A Whole New World” as her talent. Mersaydez is the daughter of Malissa Boynton and Rusty Johnston.
The Little Miss escorts for the evening were Brayden Bradbury, son of Bart and Heather Bradbury; Ethan Pryor, son of Brad and Nicole Pryor; and Gage Willette, son of Larry and Stacy Willette. They were all very handsome and did a great job with their escort duties.
Special talent was also provided by Little Miss Mars Hill 2009 Kayla Decker and Miss Greater Mars Hill 2009 Meagan McClay.
The Greater Miss contestants included Paige Findlen, daughter of Susan Findlen and Jeffery Findlen. She did a beautiful lyrical ballet to “Hometown Glory” as her talent. Named the first runner-up, her escort for the evening was Jack Footer.
Brittni Mosher was named Miss Greater Mars Hill 2010. The daughter of Walter and Janice Mosher, Brittni did a great Gymnastics Routine to “It‘s My Life” as her talent. She was escorted by James Richard.
Aryn Bernier is the daughter of Daniel Bernier. She did a beautiful job with a song and dance routine to “Tango.” She was escorted by Bryce McClay.
Rachel Donovan was named the second runner-up. She was escorted by Ethan Stiles and is the daughter of Harry and Candace Donovan. She did a wonderful job with a self-choreographed dance to “When God Made You” as her talent.
Marci-Rae Mean received the award for High Ticket Sales. The daughter of Eric and Marla Mean, she did a great job singing “Outside My Window” as her talent. Marci-Rae’s escort was Taylor Fletcher.
Sarah Michaud was named Miss Congeniality for the evening. She did an energetic, self-choreographed dance and gymnastics routine to “Evacuate the Dance Floor” as her talent. The daughter of Tina Field, Sarah’s escort was Logan Chandler.
Another great year of talented young ladies. They all did a great job.
