French film top UMPI’s upcomng events

Admissions Open House

    The University of Maine at Presque Isle invites students, their families and members of the community to an Admissions Open House on Monday, April 19, in the UMPI Campus Center. All with an interest are invited to attend informational sessions on student campus life, financial aid, athletics and academic programs at the University. The Open House will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., with check-in from 9:30–10 a.m. For further information, please call the Admissions Office at 768-9532.

French Club sponsors film

    On Wednesday, April 21, the University of Maine at Presque Isle’s French Club will offer a 6 p.m. showing in Folsom Hall Room 105 of the French film “Au revoir les enfants” — the story of a Jewish boy hidden from the Nazis during World War II at a French boarding school. Louis Malle directed the film based on actual events when he attended a boarding school during the war. All with an interest are invited to attend this free PG-rated film to be shown in French with English subtitles.
