Cunningham Heights Condos set open house
PRESQUE ISLE – A new local development firm, H&M Development Co., LLC, is closing in on the completion of the largest housing development in many years in Presque Isle. Troy Haney of Caribou and Stephane Morin of Rivere De Loup, Quebec are the owners of the Cunningham Heights Condo project that started in July of 2008 at the end of Oak Street. Haney is the owner of Haney’s Building Specialties in Caribou, a local home building supply company that has constructed and remodeled homes all over Aroostook County for the past 11 years. Morin is a former owner of Goscobec Modular Homes out of Quebec and is now currently the vice president of Premiertech Horticulture Products of Quebec.
The goal of this project was to offer condo-style living at an affordable price for people of all ages. This project was also developed with energy efficiency in mind as the developers researched to find a high quality heating system with the most fuel efficiency. Both goals have seem to be met as seven of the 11 condo units have already been sold and only three remain for sale. Also, residents who have lived there this past winter enjoyed some of the lowest heat and maintenance cost of anyone who owns a home in Aroostook County.
Cunningham Heights is nestled in heart of Presque Isle at the end of Oak Street between Church and Blake streets. It offers a quiet neighborhood at the end of a dead end street. It also has the Presque Isle bike/walking path right in its front yard from one end of the development to the other. This was a big part in the decision to build there as the bike path offers residents a chance to enjoy a healthy lifestyle right outside their front door.
H&M Development is hosting an open house of the last three remaining condos this Saturday and Sunday, April 17-18, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. The developers are inviting everyone to stop by and check out these beautiful new homes that are available for immediate sale. Anyone interested in purchasing a new home may also qualify for the Home Buying Tax Credit that ends April 30, which is a huge incentive to stop by. H&M will also be serving free hot dogs and soda from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. each day. For more information on this project, contact Haney at 227-0897.
