The Stars youth group joined forces with the Women’s Home Missions Council from the Washburn Pentecostal Church to make a total of eight baby quilts. These special “blankies” will be going to Haiti through Marden’s Presque Isle store as part of the Linus Program.
Those in the ladies’ group include: Emily Daigle, Brenda Boykin, Ruth Seward, Vella Condon, Joyce Hobbs, Debbie Laplante and Tabitha Shaw. The youth group includes: Leaders Karen Philbrook and Carol Tilley, and Stars Alyssa Dennett, Samantha Churchill, Justine LaBier, MyKayla Laplante, Kassie Farley, Samantha White and Samantha Churchill.
The Stars’ girls, along with Leader Carol Tilley, delivered their eight beautiful quilts to Marden’s and they were very thankfully accepted by Linus Project Coordinator Debbie Cyr.
This was the first time the youth worked with the WHMC, and both groups had a good time, with the ladies enjoying the “helping hands.” And perhaps they’ll get the chance to work together in the future. All attending enjoyed the event and a special lunch with menu items including pizza, punch and a special delicious dessert.
