Hotham takes state FT title
BANGOR – After setting records in free throw shooting during the Eastern Maine Class D playoffs, Amanda Hotham of Fort Fairfield became a state champion over the weekend.

Hotham, who was representing the northern region, tossed in 49 out of 50 attempts to defeat Hannah Pray of Central (East Corinth), Kayla Burchill of Deering (Portland) and Alanna Vose of Medomak Valley (Waldoboro) at the Maine McDonald’s All-Star Basketball Games held at Husson University March 13.
The boys winner was Kyle Randall of Cheverus, who made 48 of 50 attempts. Matt Till of Caribou was the northern region’s representative. Others making the finals were Jacob Jones of Penobscot Valley High School (Howland) and Cameron Mitchell of Waterville.
