MAPLETON – Mapleton’s youngest troop, Daisy and Brownie Girl Scout Troop 1133, celebrated its first year together last fall. Since becoming a troop in October of 2008, the girls (along with a wonderful group of parents) have been extremely dedicated to Scouting.

The troop meets at the Mapleton United Baptist Church twice a month to work on earning petals and try-its, singing new songs, and learning more about the world of Girl Scouting.
Over the past few months, the girls have participated in the fall product sales and annual cookie sales, held their Investiture and Rededication Ceremony, gone Christmas caroling at Leisure Gardens and the Presque Isle Nursing Home, collected donations for the Central Aroostook Humane Society, toured the Mapleton Fire Department, celebrated World Thinking Day, made pizzas at Pizza Hut, took part in Planet Head Day and attended service on Girl Scout Sunday.
Dedicated troop members include Daisy Scouts: Delaney Alward, Bethany Baker, Madelyn Buzza, Alexis Getchell, Alexus LaFerriere, Jenna Mountain, Sydney Robichaud, Brooke Trask, Paige Trask and Amanda Winslow. Brownie Scouts are Katelyn Amero and Rebecca Rider. The troop is led by Jennifer Buzza and Nancy Winslow.
