PRESQUE ISLE — A driver escaped serious injury Monday evening when his SUV rolled over on the Caribou Rd., just north of the city.

The Presque Isle Police Department responded to the report of a rollover near Theriault Equipment around 6:28 p.m. Feb. 8.
“Brian Albert, 43, of Caribou, was traveling northbound on Route 1 when he lost control of his 2002 Jeep and rolled off the right side of the road,” said Sgt. Laurie Kelley, PIPD.
According to Kelley, Albert was traveling alone and was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident. He was not injured.
The light snow that had fallen throughout the day and steady winds, made road conditions slick for evening drivers.
“The recent snow made for slushy conditions in some areas. Roads were slippery, including the Caribou Rd.,” she said.
Officer Peter Johnson investigated the accident. Cowett’s Towing Service was called to retrieve the vehicle. Damage was estimated at $3,000.
