SCRIBNER, Franklin Bennett, 90, Easton, December 31, 2009. Interment will be in the spring in Kingham.
EASTON – Franklin Bennett Scribner, 90, died December 31, 2009, at the Aroostook Medical Center. He was born March 4, 1919, in Kingman, the son of Frank K. and Katherine Gertrude (Clark) Scribner.
Franklin was an accountant, starting his career with Maine Potato Growers in Presque Isle. He also worked for Carroll’s Auto Sales. He retired from Prower Wholesale Grocer in Portland.
He served in the United States Air Force during WWII as a navigator on a B17, flying 32 combat missions over Germany.
He was a 32nd degree Mason, past Master of the Presque Isle Masonic Lodge, and Worthy Patron of the Order of Eastern Star.
He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Patricia A. (Tompkins) Scribner of Easton; son Douglas and his wife Janice of Lutz, Fl.; sister Beulah Marquis of Easton; brother Richard and wife Ann of Presque Isle; seven nieces and six nephews including very special nephew Kevin Marquis of Easton. He was predeceased by brothers Ernest and Harold.
At his request, there will be no services. Interment will be in the spring in Kingman.
