Do you have the need for speed? Well then head out to the ice on Portage Lake on Sunday morning, Jan. 17, for the Portage Lakers Snowmobile Clubs’ annual Radar Run.
Registration begins at 9 a.m. and the racing will start promptly at 10 a.m.
There will be races in 20 classes including: junior, vintage, mini, stock, improved stock and open mod. Prizes and certificates will be given for first, second and third placement in each category.
Please note: anyone under the age of 18 must have a parent present to be allowed to race.
This is a very fun event to participate in or just watch. A lot of these machines top speeds well over 100 mph! This is the best place to see what your machine can really do. Who knows, you may earn some bragging rights while you’re at it!
There will also be some food, drink and snacks for sale on the ice. Of course, Dean’s will have their breakfast and lunch menus and Coffin’s has a variety of food, snacks and drink as well.
This race is open to anyone who wants to join in, no matter what town you’re from. The more the merrier and the more also makes for much better competition!
