The Cary/Pines Atoms hockey team had plenty of firsts over its last four games.
On Dec. 19 at Florenceville against the Carelton Penguins, Greyson Sonnntag garnered his first career goal then proceeded to get his first hat trick in a 13-3 victory for Cary/Pines.
Thomas Patenaude added three goals, Alex Brewer, Isaac Madore and Ryan Player netted two apiece and Austin Bouchard scored first career goal. Heinz Schumacher was strong in net for the local squad.
In a 6-4 win over the Woodstock DQ Slammers Dec. 20, Denny Young scored three times, Patenaude two and Bouchard one for Cary/Pines, who outshot the opponents, 47-19.
Southern Victoria II handed the local Atoms squad an 8-3 defeat Dec. 27, but Tyler Levesque had his first career goal off a Sarah Beaulieu assist. Gregory Jellison and Denny Young were the other goal scorers for Cary/Pines.
The team bounced back for a 9-4 win over Southern Vic I later that day. Madore scored his first career hat trick, while Patenaude and Young netted two goals each and Brewer and Jellison added one each. Schumacher faced 13 shots in the victory.
