UMPI to provide parade fun

To the editor:
The University of Maine at Presque Isle looks forward to its annual collaboration with the Presque Isle Area Chamber of Commerce during the Holiday Light Parade on Saturday, Dec. 5. As we did last year, Gentile Hall will be open before, during, and after the parade to welcome parade participants and parade watchers. We’ll have coffee, cocoa, and cookies ready to welcome the community.     The parade ends at Gentile Hall. Parade participants may want to leave their cars in the Gentile parking lot or another campus lot. We encourage you to stop in afterwards to warm up and visit with old and new friends. Parade spectators are encouraged to stake out positions near the end of the parade route.
If the weather is frosty, take occasional breaks to warm up in Gentile. Warm weather fans are welcome to spend the entire time in Gentile (you can watch many of the floats through the entryway doors).
In addition to the good fellowship, warmth, and nourishment, we will provide poster descriptions of some of the events going on at the University. We have had a busy spring and fall and we want to share these experiences with the community.
So, warm and casual dress. We’ll see you on December 5 at Gentile Hall from 6:30 p.m. on.
