PRESQUE ISLE — Black Friday left two drivers feeling the blues when their vehicles collided around 10 a.m. on North Main St.
“An Irving employee called the Presque Isle Police Department, at approximately 10:05 a.m., reporting an accident between the Irving and Marden’s parking lots on Main St.,” said Sgt. Joey Seeley, PIPD.

According to Seeley, Audrey McCullough, 27, of Fort Fairfield, was operating a 2008 Honda four-door sedan when she attempted to exit the Marden’s/Shop ‘N Save parking lot trying to go north. Aaron Kenneson, 24, of Mapleton, was driving a 2000 Jeep SUV, traveling south on Main St. Also traveling south in another vehicle was Chris Duchardt, 32, of Presque Isle.
“Duchardt was on the outside lane and motioned for McCullough to turn onto Main St. Neither Duchardt nor McCullough saw Kenneson on the inside lane. As McCullough drove by Duchardt’s vehicle, she was struck by Kenneson,” said Seeley.
The Jeep struck the driver’s side front fender and wheel of McCullough’s car, causing extensive damage to both vehicles. A passenger in McCullough’s car, identified as 10-year-old Kyle McCullough, of Fort Fairfield, was transported by Crown Ambulance to The Aroostook Medical Center for non-life-threatening injuries, treated and released. Neither driver was injured. Both drivers and the passenger were wearing seatbelts.
“Kenneson’s Jeep sustained about $2,000 in damage to the front but was able to be driven from the scene. McCullough’s car sustained about $2,500 in damage and, due to the damage, had to be towed from the scene by Cowett’s,” said Seeley.
Also assisting at the scene were the Presque Isle Fire Department’s First Responders and Det. Bill Scull, PIPD.
    No charges are pending.
Seeley reminds drivers to use caution when merging into traffic from parking lots.
“Don’t rely on another driver’s opinion if it’s clear to go. Make sure to look for yourself,” said Seeley.
