Lots of hard work and preparation went into the Easton Wesleyan Church’s 40th anniversary celebration. May God richly bless all of you that worked so hard and helped in any way. Oct. 10 started things off with an open house at the Easton Wesleyan Church, hosted by Keith and Esther Richardson. Approximately 40 people attended. They toured the church, visited and had some snacks.
The banquet was held at the Easton Elementary School with 194 in attendance. A wonderful meal was served and slides presented, showing the whole evening from when the church was founded to present. Scott Fuller was the speaker for the evening and spoke about the history of the church, which was founded in 1969. On Sunday at 10:30 a.m. the morning service started. The praise and worship service was led by Pastor Larry Palmer and his wife, Becky. There was special singing by different groups. There was a duet by Leanne (Sullivan) Carey and Kendra (Richardson) Polson. There was a quartet of men that sang and many other special performances. Dr. Rev. Kim Richardson was the special speaker of the day. He did a great job. Rev. Arthur Maxwell, acting president of Bethany Bible College, presented greetings from the college. Rev. LeRoy, the district superintendent, presented greetings from all the Wesleyan churches. A collection was taken up to reduce the church’s mortgage and over $10,000 was collected. They are now mortgage free. The evening service was one filled with stories and praises, with old hymns and songs. About 75 attended.
Harvest Party
The annual Harvest Party will be held from 2-4 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 31 at the Easton Elementary School gymnasium. The event is for children up to grade 6 and their families. Categories will include Most Original, Most Colorful and Best Group Costume), and more. Organizers still need small kid’s meal-type toys to use as prizes for some of the games at the party!
