PRESQUE ISLE – Maine Centers for Women, Work and Community (WWC) invites central Aroostook businesses to submit applications for its upcoming round of collaborative marketing mini-grants. One or more grants of up to $400 will be awarded to groups of three or more small business owners to support a collaborative marketing project.  Examples of possible mini-grant projects include, but are not limited to, collaborative brochures or Web site, group advertising, group open house event, development of a collaborative package or product, or shared booth at a large trade show or fair. Successful proposals will enhance the market reach of network members and serve as a catalyst for community building among small businesses from different sectors.
Erica Quin-Easter, microenterprise coordinator for Women, Work and Community in Aroostook County, notes, “These grants provide tangible support for businesses who are working together to boost their bottom line and build new customers.”
Applicant groups may include men and women, and groups may include businesses throughout Aroostook County so long as 50 percent or more of the participating businesses are located in central Aroostook. The collaborative marketing mini-grant must be matched by a 25 percent contribution from the applicant group (i.e. $50 match required for a $200 grant; $100 match required for a $400 grant).
The deadline to apply for a WWC mini-grant in the central Aroostook region is Monday, Oct. 26. Applications are available from Women, Work and Community at 764-0050 or erica.quineaster@maine.edu.
