VASSALBORO – The high school golf season officially came to an end Saturday at the individual state golf tournament, played at Natanis Golf Club in very cold temperatures.

Four local golfers competed. Alex Tuttle of the Presque Isle Wildcats shot an 88 to finish among the top half of the field in Class B. Teammate Evan Waddell came in with a score of 94. Both Tuttle and Waddell had qualified by virtue of their performances at the PVC Qualifier held at Jato in Lincoln Oct. 1.
In Class C, Central Aroostook’s Kaine Kingsbury carded a 91, while Will Delong, also of the Panthers, had a 94. Kingsbury and Delong qualified for the state tournament at the Aroostook League qualifier held at Aroostook Valley Country Club in Fort Fairfield Sept. 18. Fort Fairfield’s Josh Churchill and Ian Girvan had also qualified, but opted not to compete in the state event.
Tim Millett of North Yarmouth Academy had the low round Saturday with a 71.
