Kudos to Soderberg, Burnham and Landeen

To the editor:
I would like to update readers on a local construction project as a former highway technician. A 2.80-mile section of Rte. 163 is being rebuilt. Haystack Hill is lowered by 12 feet. The new road is 24 feet inside with 5 feet of paved shoulder on each side. Soderberg Construction of Caribou started last spring and the completion date is Oct. 20th. The construction resident is Martine Burnham with DOT inspectors, Roger Soucy and Josh Mailman. Contractor’s superintendent is Greg Landeen. This project proceeded very well with a minimum of traffic delays.     This portion of Rte. 163 will complete the total reconstruction of Rte. 163 from Presque Isle to Portage Lake. I’m certain the local residents as well as the commuters from Ashland and Portage will be pleased. Soderberg Construction availed themselves of the latest highway engineering technology to build this highway. Well done!
