Mars Hill native becomes new branch manager

Katahdin Trust has announced the promotion of Michaela King to branch manager and community banking officer.

With this promotion, King will oversee the day-to-day management of the Scarborough branch while also being responsible for consumer loans, cash management, and business development.

“Michaela will be a great addition to our Scarborough branch team,” said Angela Tennett, executive vice president, chief banking officer. “With her knowledge and banking experience I am confident that she will help our presence in the greater Portland area grow even more.”

King, a Mars Hill native, began her career with Katahdin Trust in 2018 as a teller at the Mars Hill branch. In 2019 she became Community Banker II and in 2021 was named Cash Management Specialist. 

Most recently in 2023, she was promoted to Community Banking Officer and Cash Management Specialist. 

King has a passion for learning and in 2025 graduated from Husson University with her master of business administration. She is a 2021 graduate of the Young Professionals Institute and a 2023 graduate of Leadership Aroostook. 

She is also a steering committee member for both the Young Professionals Institute and Momentum Aroostook.
