PRESQUE ISLE, Maine – The Aroostook Agency on Aging is pleased to announce that it has extended its July glass art exhibit throughout August. During Presque Isle’s First Friday Art Night on Friday, Aug. 1 from 4:30–7:30 p.m., artist Dr. Diane Vo will show both her intuitive stained glass art and her hand-crafted basketry. In addition, she will explain and demonstrate her unique approach to glass art.
“I love bringing new life to materials that people might discard,” says Dr. Vo. In the exhibit viewers will spot vintage spoons, wedding mirrors, upcycled lanterns, vintage picture frames, a lazy Susan and even an old cart rescued curbside, now being beautifully restored with glass into a dramatic push-cart.
Dr. Vo is a clinical psychologist who moved to northern Maine from the Boston area 10 years ago.
The First Friday Art Night opening event is free and open to the public. For more information, please call the Agency on Aging at 207-764-3396 or 1-800-439-1789.
