The Caribou Police Department is investigating a hit-and-run that occurred Monday night in front of the fire station, the department said in a release Tuesday afternoon.
The department said two pedestrians were walking east on High Street around 11 p.m. when a vehicle they described as a black SUV came from behind and struck one of them.
The victim, a 31-year-old man, was transported to Cary Medical Center with injuries that are not considered life-threatening to his left leg and ankle.
Police believe the vehicle left the scene headed east before turning onto Bennett Drive. At 9 p.m. Tuesday, the department announced it had identified and spoken to the driver of the vehicle, writing “court action was taken.”
The investigating officer is Kevin St. Peter.
