A former Caribou resident will serve eight years in prison for allegedly possessing child sexual abuse images.
Devin Madigan, 30, was sentenced today at Bangor District Court by U.S. District Judge Stacey D. Neumann, Assistant U.S. Attorney Andrew K. Lizotte said in a press release.
Neumann also ordered Madigan to undergo 10 years of supervised release and pay $20,500 in restitution.
Kik, a messaging and chat app, led law enforcement to Madigan, according to court records. The app tipped off the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children in April 2022 that a user had uploaded videos showing the sexual abuse of children as young as 1 to 3 years old.
Investigators traced the account to Madigan. Court records indicated Madigan’s phone also contained child sexual abuse images.
