Mapleton Daze Starts June 23rd

The Town of Mapleton is getting ready for the 36th annual Mapleton Daze.  Here is partial schedule of the activities at the 2025 edition of Mapleton Daze.

Monday

Mapleton Daze Week will kick-off with an Open House at the Mapleton Fire Department. The Mapleton Daze Committee invites everyone to join them on Monday, June 24th from 5:00 – 7:00 pm as the Mapleton Fire Department (117 Pulcifur Road, Mapleton) will open their doors to the public and show off their building, trucks, equipment, and more. There will be hot dog roast fundraiser to help the fire department buy new equipment.  This is family event and great fun young kids.

Tuesday 

Mapleton Daze annual fundraising event this will be for the Community Food Closet.   Tuesday, June 24th at the Mapleton Elementary School, the Mapleton Daze Committee will be having a hot dog roast with a bag of chips, dessert, and water for a $5 donation.  This will be a family friendly event of fun and activities.    Starting at 5:30 and running to 7:30, there will be a little talent show.  Anyone who can sing, dance, tell a good story or play an instrument, the Mapleton Daze Committee is looking for you.  Please message the committee through Facebook of your interest in participating in the talent show.

Wednesday 

This year “Dialed In Action BMX Sports” will be back to perform a BMX bike show at the Mapleton Elementary Show which will start at 6:00 pm.  The show will be great fun for the whole family.

Come early and enjoy the delicious food from the food vendors who will be on hand.   You can and have a little dinner before or during the show.  Also this show will be outside so grab your chairs and bring them to enjoy the evening.  In the event of rain, the show will be moved to Thursday evening.

Thursday 

On Thursday June 26, Game Night will be held at the Mapleton Elementary School.  The big Bingo Game with many, many prizes will be held in school cafeteria.  There is no admission to the Bingo Game.  In the Resource Room at the school, all of the area’s card sharks (Actually any cribbage player is invited to play) will gather for the annual Cribbage Tournament, which will start at 6:00 PM.  Roadside Homemade Fries will be on hand to players needs for snacks.  In the event of rain on Wednesday evening that forces the BMX show to move to Thursday evening, the Bingo/Cribbage Tournament will be held Sunday afternoon at 2:00 pm.

Friday 

Friday evening June 27 will be a night of good food, music and fireworks.  Starting at 4:30 Pm the Mapleton Lions club will start serving BBQ Chicken dinners at the Mapleton Lions Hall.  Meals will feature a “Blast from the Past” ½ chicken dinners with potato salad, cole slaw, roll and drink.  Also this year a hot dog dinner will be available for the kids.  

Also on Friday evening, the Mapleton Methodist Women will be holding their annual homemade pie sale.  These pies will be a fine dessert after having a delicious Mapleton Lions BBQ Chicken dinner.  These pies will be just like the ones your mother or aunt made, maybe because several of these women may be your mother or aunt.

 Besides eating great food, Friday evening will be filled with fun and entertainment.  At 6:00 PM The Mapleton Baptist Church will be sponsoring and holding a Cornhole Tournament at the Mapleton elementary School  Participants aged 13 or older way register.  Prizes will be $50.00 first place, $30.00 second place, and $10.00 third place.  Registration starts at 4:30 PM.  The tournament will be limited to the first 20 people registering.  

Music, music will be playing all evening.  First, the County Folk will be back again this year for Friday Night of Mapleton Daze!!  The County Folk take the stage and play from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm, so bring your chairs and come and listen to some great music Couples are free to “cut a rug” and dance during this event (if it should rain, the event will be moved inside the school).

Then at 7:00 pm Star City Syndicate the most popular band in the County takes the stage as a lead up to the big Fireworks Show. Please join the Mapleton Daze Committee and Star City Syndicate plays songs that are enjoyed by everyone.  You know it will be a GREAT SHOW as they lead into the Mapleton Daze Fireworks Show, which will start at dusk (approximately 9:00 PM). (If it should rain, music will be moved inside the school and the fireworks delayed until Saturday night).  

Saturday 

7:00 AM Breakfast on Haystack Mountain as Adam Murchison takes participants to the top of the mountain with a special breakfast for one at the top.  Everyone will meet in the parking lot below Haystack Mountain before going up for breakfast.

7:30 AM Free breakfast sandwiches with drinks will be provided next to the post office by the area churches to all who stop by for breakfast.  

10:00 AM The Haystack Historical Society opens with their Homemade Pie and Ice Cream at the museum.  This is a fundraiser for the museum.  Come in and see the family quilts hanging in the museum.  

Each year one of the longest parades in Aroostook County takes place on Mapleton Daze Saturday morning. Children with their decorated bikes and carts lead the parade down Main Street to the Mapleton Elementary School. Club, businesses, organizations and area pageant queens are invited tobe part of this community parade.  Facebook message the Mapleton DazeCommittee.

10:00 AM the Children’s Bike Parade will lead the Mapleton Daze parade down Main Street in Mapleton.  Parade lineup will start at 9:00 am with kids and bikes at the Mapleton Pool Street and adult floats and parade entries on Dudley Road.  11:00 AM All the Mapleton Daze activities start at the Mapleton Elementary School.  Some activities include food vendors, face painting, touch-a-truck, bouncy houses, demonstrations, games, petting zoo, horse rides, bike giveaway raffle, etc.  Musical entertainment will be provided by Trainwreck during these fun activities.

11:00 AM the annual Mapleton Daze Car Show will be held at the Mapleton Elementary School parking lot.

7:00 PM a street dance will be held with Highway 207 playing and singing for the dancers and spectators enjoyment.

Sunday 

10:00 The Mapleton ATV Club will host a ride with lunch being served on the trail.  Ride will start at the Gazebo.

1:00-4:00 PM there will be a Pool Party at the Mapleton Community Pool.  The Mapleton Recreation Department will popsicles and giveaways during the party.

Baptist Park Open Registration

Registration for the 92nd year of summer fun and Christian camping experiences at Baptist Park has opened.  Baptist Park will be offering many activities this summer for children and youth ages 4-18 as well as families and adults of all ages.  The largest part of the Baptist Park program of activities is the day and overnight camping.  Day camping will be available for two age groups – the Puddle Jumpers ages 4 – 6 and Growing Up Adventures ages 6 – 8.  Week long overnight camping will consist of three age groups – Mountain Climbers ages 9 – 11, Outdoor Adventure ages 13-18 and Maxed Out Adventure ages 11 – 14.  For specific details regarding the camping programs, visit Baptistpark.net.

The most unique camp is Baptist Park’s Flight Camp for youth ages 14-18.  This camp offers an introduction to aviation with a Christian emphasis.  Campers learn about the fundamentals of flight and will take actual flights during the week.  They will also be introduced to the wide variety of careers in aviation through guest speakers and field trips.
