HOULTON, Maine — Incoming Maine Water Utilities Association President Andy Begin, of The Greater Augusta Utility, thanked the Houlton Water Company for allowing Brian McGuire to serve as a MWUA board member.
“(McGuire’s) continued commitment to our association has brought us through some very dynamic times,” Begin wrote in an email. “His leadership through these changes has been instrumental to the membership and the association.
“Under Brian’s leadership MWUA has created a more robust training program, increased networking post pandemic, guided us through organizational hardships, raised money during critical times for the association and much more. Brian has been a great friend and mentor to many of us on the board and throughout the industry. His passion and commitment to the industry is clear to all of us. Due to his long -term dedication and leadership to our association he was the recent recipient of the NEWWA State Leadership award. He received this award at our most recent annual conference. I was absolutely delighted to see his continued dedication and hard work get recognized before our membership and throughout New England. He was most deserving of this award and sets an example for many of us to follow.
