ST. AGATHA, Maine — Sixteen students marched and received their diplomas on Saturday morning during Wisdom High School’s Class of 2025 commencement ceremony.

After the Pioneer Band played “Pomp & Circumstance,” Jacqueline Savageau performed the National Anthem and principal Robby Nadeau delivered opening remarks.

And while Nadeau formerly served as the Fort Kent Elementary School principal, this marks his first year as the principal of Wisdom Middle/High School and Dr. Levesque Elementary School.

Nadeau said that while he has only been at the school for a brief period, he quickly grew to admire the energy, dedication and spirit of the graduating class.

“No matter where life takes you, whether you remain here in your hometown or you move across the world, I hope you’ll remember that the impact you make on the people around you is what truly matters,” he told the class.

Student honor essayist Landon Picard recognized that the class just experienced a series of final moments, including their last baseball game, their last test and their last final exam. This, he said, is a stark contrast to the attitude he had throughout much of his school career, which included the first day of school, first bus ride, field trip and report card.

He commended his fellow classmates for persevering through failure, loss and devastation throughout the years, and for showing courage.

Essayist Camden Pelletier thanked the school’s teachers for their support as well as his parents and the rest of his family.

Scholarships and awards were given to the class, a senior video presentation was played, and diplomas were awarded by Superintendent Ben Sirois and School Board Chair Joshua Desjardins.

Nadeau delivered closing remarks and the commencement closed to the song “I Lived” by OneRepublic.
