HOULTON, Maine — The Southern Aroostook Development Corporation is proud to announce the election of Levi Prosser as the organization’s new board president. A dedicated community leader and division manager for Daigle Oil Company, Prosser steps into the role following the steady leadership of Josh McLaughlin who has served multiple terms as president over the past decade.

McLaughlin, a longtime supporter of regional growth initiatives, expressed his excitement for the organization’s future. “It’s been an honor to lead SADC during pivotal moments for Southern Aroostook,” said McLaughlin. “Levi brings passion, fresh perspective, and a clear vision for what’s next. I look forward to supporting him and the board in this next chapter.”

Prosser

Born and raised in Southern Aroostook, Prosser has been involved with SADC since 2019, when he was invited to join the board by former Executive Director Jon McLaughlin. Since then he has served on the executive committee and co-chaired the Future Professionals of Aroostook, a mentorship program that introduces eighth-graders to careers available throughout the region and teaches five critical life skills over the course of three years with volunteer mentors from the business community. In his professional role with Daigle Oil, he oversees heating oil, propane, commercial fuels and HVAC services throughout the region.

His leadership style is grounded, hands-on and community-focused — qualities he brings to his new position as SADC board president.

“This region has so much potential,” said Prosser. “My focus this year will be on promoting our long-standing Strike Team service for entrepreneurs and small business owners, and on strengthening SADC’s presence throughout Southern Aroostook. We want more municipalities and business leaders — beyond just Houlton — to understand how we can support them.”

The Strike Team, a confidential, no-cost resource for local businesses, offers personalized support and advising for startups, expansions and strategic planning. Additionally, under Prosser’s leadership, SADC will continue to consult with municipalities on long-term economic development strategies and business attraction efforts.

“Southern Aroostook has the building blocks for sustainable growth — proximity to I-95 and the Canadian border, low-cost electricity, a strong work ethic, and unmatched outdoor recreation,” said Prosser. “By highlighting these strengths and supporting both public and private partners, we can build something lasting for future generations.”

SADC Executive Director Johanna Johnston praised both the contributions of McLaughlin and the promise of Prosser’s new tenure.

“Josh has been a phenomenal mentor and leader during my first two years as executive director. His knowledge, support, and calm leadership have helped guide us through a period of growth,” Johnston said. “Now, I’m looking forward to seeing Levi put his own stamp on the organization. He’s a thoughtful, driven leader who understands this region inside and out — and I’m excited for what’s ahead.”

SADC remains committed to strengthening the Southern Aroostook region through innovation, collaboration, and advocacy. With Prosser at the helm, the organization is poised to deepen its impact across the region.
